Bioventus Raises More than $12,000 for the Nevada Victims of Crime Program

HENDERSON, NV – February 9, 2015 – Bioventus, a global leader in orthobiologic solutions, today announced it raised $12,082 for the Nevada Victims of Crime program that will go toward helping victims of violent crimes pay for any resulting medical expenses. The funds were raised by more than 160 Bioventus employees, who ran or walked, in a five kilometer race in Henderson, Nevada on February 6.

Dubbed the Sunset Sprint, the effort was a team building activity for Bioventus while in Henderson for meetings with its U.S. sales force.

“Giving back to the communities in which we work and live is a tradition for Bioventus,” said Jeff Acuff, Vice President of Sales – U.S., Bioventus. “Numerous times in the past, our Nevada-based sales representative has helped individuals through the Nevada Victims of Crime program that had experienced bone fractures, so there was a natural connection for our company to continue our support. I’m proud of our team and of the amount of money we raised for this worthy cause.”

“The Nevada Victims of Crime program aids victims of violent crimes in many ways including covering medical expenses related to their attack,” said Rebecca Salazar, Program Manager, Victims of Crime. “Victims find out about the program from police, advocates and hospitals and this donation from Bioventus will go directly to those most in need.”
