Bioventus Also Agrees to OUS Distribution and Co-Development Relationships<\/h2>\n

DURHAM, NC<\/strong> \u2013 August 25, 2021 \u2013 <\/strong>Bioventus Inc.<\/a> (Nasdaq: BVS) (\u201cBioventus\u201d or the \u201cCompany\u201d), a global leader in innovations for active healing, has completed a strategic investment in Trice Medical<\/a>, Inc., a company focused on developing and commercializing\u00a0minimally invasive technologies\u00a0for sports medicine and orthopedic surgical procedures. In\u00a0conjunction with Bioventus leading the Series D funding round, the Company will receive exclusive sales and distribution rights to Trice\u2019s products outside of the US.<\/p>\n

Bioventus and Trice have also agreed to enter into a co-development arrangement to explore\u00a0the integration of Trice technologies\u00a0with Bioventus\u2019 current and future peripheral nerve stimulation (\u201cPNS\u201d) offerings of StimRouter\u00ae<\/sup><\/a> and TalisMann\u2122<\/sup> in order to\u00a0accelerate adoption\u00a0of both companies\u2019 products.<\/p>\n

Trice, founded in 2011 and based in Malvern, Pennsylvania, combines their handheld arthroscope and portable ultrasound visualization technologies\u00a0with\u00a0the company\u2019s\u00a0differentiated surgical devices\u00a0to treat a range of\u00a0sports medicine and orthopedic conditions, including tendinopathy, planter fasciitis\u00a0and\u00a0carpel tunnel, in order to improve patient recovery time, reduce pain, minimize scarring and move surgical procedures out of higher cost points of care.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrice\u2019s established and growing presence in sports medicine and orthopedics is directly aligned with our strategy of expanding our offerings across these core Bioventus call points,\u201d said Chris Yamamoto, Senior Vice President of Business Development & Strategy, Bioventus.\u00a0\u201cOur investment will not only fund the ongoing growth of Trice, but also\u00a0is expected to\u00a0allow both companies to further validate\u00a0the merits of a combination.\u201d<\/p>\n

In connection with the investment, Yamamoto has been elected to serve on the Board of Trice. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.<\/p>\n
